形態特徵

  • Annual herb, to 30 cm tall; stems much branched, prostrate and decumbent or ascending or erect, glabrous or appearing pilose from long axillary hairs.
  • Leaves spirally arranged to subopposite, subsessile, linear, 0.5-3 cm long, 1-4 mm wide; axillary hairs ca. 5 mm long.
  • Flowers few, to 5, terminal, surrounded by bracteoles and hairs; sepals 5-12 mm long; petals 5, pink, orange, red, purple, or yellow, obovate, 15-30 mm long, obtuse to emarginate at apex; stamens many; styles 5-18-fid.
  • Capsule globose, ca. 5 mm in diameter, circumscissile 1/2 to 2/3 of fruit height.

  • 台灣 : commonly cultivated and rarely escaped.
  • 世界 : Tropical America.
